Welcome to the MDI High School Renovation project site. In the fall of 2021, the Mount Desert Island Regional High School Board of Trustees selected Oak Point Associates to develop concept designs and budgets for renovations to the High School’s science wing and library. Since the start of the project, students and staff have provided valuable insight into the educational needs of these spaces, ways to improve the function of the building and the overall educational experience for students. This input resulted in the proposed plan highlighted on this website. Throughout the design process, we have strived to find a balance between the overall building needs, sustainability, safety and security and the financial impact on the community.
